RetfordTrainingUncategorisedWeekly UpdateWorksopSo Just Why Is Netball So Important to Us?

Hi

With lockdown gradually easing again we are starting to look forward to getting back into training and on to court for some matches.  This has to be done safely for the benefit of everyone from players, coaches, officials and families.  The stop start of the last year has been difficult but we’ve managed to get through it together in one way or another. I can see us going from strength to strength and not just in netball.

Interested to find out what some of our netball members thought about the return to the sport later this month, I decided to canvas the Bassetlaw Belles Netball Club committee.  Here goes …..

“I’m most looking forward to putting my Bassetlaw Belles purple dress on and having the netball social life again! I’m least looking forward to playing outside if the court is wet and slippery”  Elizabeth

“I’m most looking forward to seeing everyone again and enjoying some right good banter!!  I’m least looking forward to realising my fitness  limitations!”  Kaye

“With netball on the horizon I am mostly looking forward to doing some organised weekly activities again and hopefully losing the lockdown love handles I’ve developed. What I am least looking forward to is trying to find the willpower to get me past the new McDonalds in Worksop every Monday evening after training!” Corinna

“I’m most looking forward to see everyone again, the camaraderie, the banter, the laughs, competitiveness, teamwork and support from a fantastic group of people”   Alison

“I’m looking forward to getting back to one of the things I really enjoy. Netball helps me keep my fitness and helps me mentally too. Great people to be around be it in training and playing matches. The banter is fantastic. The people supportive. I’m not looking  forward to my old bones creaking though” Lindsey

“I’m looking forward to the highs and lows that come from sport but I’m not looking forward to playing in the elements” Jen

“Win, lose or draw I can’t wait to get back on court running my socks off again. Although I’m not sure my fitness levels are quite what they were before lockdown”  Anna

“I’m most looking forward to the buzz you get from a B2N workout. Maybe not looking forwards to aching limbs the day after!!”  Xanthe

I think its fair to say that there is more than a little excitement about being able to meet up with friends, getting a bit of fitness under our belts and getting back into some fun with this sport.
