Where there’s a will there’s a way as they say…..which is why we managed to squeeze another round of Sunday Morning League games in just before the latest national lockdown. Six teams and three very competitive games where played on Sunday 1st November at Manton Sports Club. It was a perfect day for a spot of court action and the games did not disappoint.

First up was The Scorchers v Vixens played a very competitive six a side game due to players on both teams being unavailable. It ended with a win for Vixens by the closest of margins. Our second game saw Ninjas take on TBT in another close game in terms of play but Ninjas ran out winners due to some sharp shooting from their circle attackers who were on point. Last up was T Birds v Hustlers in a game that could have gone either way. Hustlers picked up the spoils with a one goal victory. The league table had a bit of a switch around and Ninjas are leading the way with Vixens moving down to second place on goal difference. Well played everyone and a special shout out to our two umpires Lindsey and Anna.

All three games were played in a very sporting manner and I think the realisation that we were about to enter a second lockdown meant we would not be taking to the court for a few weeks. It  made it  more significant and made us appreciate a little more the huge benefits that this sport gives us all.

Hopefully we will be back in December to resume the league with our modified rules and covid safe regulations. At the moment it seems a long way off but with a bit of luck we will be back at Manton on court soon
