Junior Netball is coming to Retford!
After running two successful junior netball taster sessions this month it is clear to see that a regular training session is needed in Retford. There was bags of enthusiasm and its fair to say that everyone enjoyed the opportunity to practice their skills.
The Retford junior session will run along side the training we have been running over the last two years in Worksop. The idea is to give youngsters the opportunity to try netball, develop skills, create teams (for those that want to) who can eventually play in leagues but more importantly have fun with the sport in a fun, supportive and safe environment
The new Retford session for 8yr to 14yr olds will commence on Wednesday 8th September in the main sports hall at Elizabethan Academy, Hallcroft Road, Retford DN22 7PY. Its an hour long session from 6pm to 7pm. Its £4.00pp and pre booking is essential as numbers are limited. If numbers increase then we will be keeping a reserve list.
The weekly sessions will be run by EN qualified coaches who are safeguard trained and DBS checked. Training will be designed to develop core skills and netball knowledge through a variety of activities, small sided games and match play. The emphasis as stated before is to engage young people in playing netball and having fun
